BALL END MILLING TOOLS
- All sizes available in Natural Diamond and CVD.
Please state diamond type when ordering
- Shank dimensions Ø3 to Ø6mm, depending
on radius size.
Form accuracy on radius:
- On CVD Diamond tool form accuracy
is standard <5µm.
- On Natural Diamond tool form accuracy
is standard <2µm, but can be specified down to <0,05µm.
BALL END MILLING TOOLS
Clearance at Ball End Milling Tool
When radius is 0,5mm or larger, Contour will adjust the diamond height and
clearances so that the diamond will fit in its own cut profile.
When radius is smaller than 0,5mm it is
not possible to reduce the diamond height so that it will fit in it's
own cut profile. Milling tools with smaller radius than 0,5mm can be
supplied, but then cutting depth is reduced to 0,19xR
ALIGNMENT OF BALL END MILLING
TOOLS
The position of the ball end milling cutter is of
main importance. Contour Fine Tooling can guarantee the position of
the cutting point being within 0,02mm of rotation axies as well as
in height as lateral position. Best option is to calibrate the machine
for the best results. If this calibration cannot be done, a distortion
will occur in the center as shown in the diagram below. |
