| When problems occur, it is not always the tool. A number
of external factors can affect the application, if the tool has not been
damaged or chipped. Some areas to look at are: |
• Vibration
• Fluctuating air supply
• Swarf build up on tool post
• Fluctuating electrical supply
• Electrical discharge
• Material imperfections
• Unstable tool post
• Spindle motor problem
• Poor swarf extraction
• Slide motor problems
• Wrong tool radius
• Software error
• Operator error
• Monday mornings and Friday afternoons.
