We have developed application-oriented solutions covering the spectrum of ultra-precision manufacturing and optics. Read here more about the process of turning.

The process of turning

Turning is by far the most common machining process in ultra-precision machining based on the big installed base of 2 and 3 axis air bearing turning machines for ultra-precision machining. The turning process varies widely per application; spectacles lenses being finished turned between a rough milling and an after grinding process, infra-red and mirrors being completely finished turned, while most contact and intra-ocular lenses as well as in principal all electro-optics lenses are produced in molds that are produced in the turning process.
